We checked ice again yesterday and there was no change from last week. 5 inches of new snow and above normal temperatures were why. The majority of the ice on the main lake is 11 to 11 1/2 inches thick. We also found areas of 7 to 10 inch ice with more areas of slush.

We checked the ice again today and found no real improvement from last week. Most of the ice was 11 inches we found some small areas with 12 inch ice and we also found some areas with 7 and 8 inch ice. DNR guidelines are 12 to 15 inches of ice for a medium size

We checked ice this morning we found quite a bit of 11 inch ice on the flats and in the bay. We also found areas where the ice was 8 to 9 inches. DNR recommends a minimum of 15 inch ice to drive a full size truck on. We are allowing ATV and snowmobile traffic.

Ice improved slightly this past week we found more 9 inch ice on the flats this weekend but we still found some 7 inch ice as well. The ice in by shore is now 10 1/2 inches. Walleye bite remained good in the bays, on the rock points and the mud flats. Perch fishing so
