We have spent over 45 years fishing on Mille Lacs Lake and want to share our knowledge of the lake with you.

Lake Report

Get the latest boat report from Terry’s Boat Harbor. We’ll let you know if the conditions on the lake are likely to result in good fishing trips. We’ll also update you on the amount of ice on the lake through the late fall and early spring to both ensure safety for ice fishing as well as let you know when you can go back out on the open lake.

Ice Report

As Minnesotans, there are few things we love more about winter than ice fishing. Terry’s Boat Harbor delivers ice reports throughout the ice fishing season to update you on ice road conditions, ice depth conditions, and everything else regarding ice fishing on Lake Mille Lacs.

02/16/2024. A truck and wheelhouse went through the ice this morning at Rocky Reef in thirty feet of water. We have only let ATV’S and Snowmobiles go out on the ice this winter. I do not believe that the ice is safe for trucks or cars to be driving on the ice this winter. We have not allowed any cars or trucks on the ice this winter and we are not going to allow it for the balance of the winter. We checked ice out one mile this morning and consistently found 12 inches but there is 8 to 9 inches of black ice with 3 to 4 inches being white ice which has no strength. People have been going to the Mud flats on ATV’S and snowmobiles. There is no snow on the lake we did not get any snow the other day when it snowed in the Twin Cities.

02/12/2024 Shoreline ice has refroze with the colder weather ATV’S, snowmobiles and side by sides are going out. Ice thickness is still not consistent it varies from 6 inches to 14 inches. A fish house went through at Macs Twin Bay last week and a ATV went through off of Pike Point. So if you decide to go fishing be careful. A few people are still going out to the Mud Flats. Walleye fishing has slowed down which is typical for this time of the year but some fish are still being caught. Perch are being caught but they are a mixed bag small, medium and large. Sme northern Pike are also being caught in the bays.
