We checked ice again yesterday and there was no change from last week. 5 inches of new snow and above normal temperatures were why. The majority of the ice on the main lake is 11 to 11 1/2 inches thick. We also found areas of 7 to 10 inch ice with more areas of slush.

We checked the ice again today and found no real improvement from last week. Most of the ice was 11 inches we found some small areas with 12 inch ice and we also found some areas with 7 and 8 inch ice. DNR guidelines are 12 to 15 inches of ice for a medium size

We checked ice this morning we found quite a bit of 11 inch ice on the flats and in the bay. We also found areas where the ice was 8 to 9 inches. DNR recommends a minimum of 15 inch ice to drive a full size truck on. We are allowing ATV and snowmobile traffic.

The ice is 7 inches for about a quarter mile. After that the ice is 3 1/2 to 4 inches. Some people have been walking out and are catching some Walleyes in 15 to 20 feet in the bay and on the first rock point.

As of today the main lake is wide open. There is ice in Cove bay, Wahkon and Isle bay and some people have been walking out to fish. With the 10 day forecast of above normal temperatures there is no way of predicting when we will be able to drive trucks on the lake. It
