01/20/2022 We checked ice again yesterday out on the flats and we still found a lot of areas where the ice was 9 to 12 inches thick. This is not enough ice to allow truck traffic out there. There were also some large areas with slush. Ice in the bay is good, we have plowed roads and we are allowing trucks and wheel houses. We will plow you a spot if you need one. We will check the ice out on the flats again next week. The forecast is for several more inches of snow which is not good for making ice.

01/20/2022 We checked ice again yesterday out on the flats and we still found a lot of areas where the ice was 9 to 12 inches thick. This is not enough ice to allow truck traffic out there. 01/15/2022 We took the plows out to Curly’s flat yesterday and there is still to much water on the road so it will remained closed until later in the week the below zero temps we have coming this week should heal everything up for next weekend. We have a dry road to Rock pile flat but we had one of our customers yesterday tell us he found some 9 inch ice on Rock pile flat. When we checked out there we did not find any ice that thin, however I do believe our customer and therefore we are also closing that road until the end of next week. St. Albans Bay has had very little fishing pressure and offers a lot of area to fish. If you have a wheel house we will plow you a spot to fish in the bay.

1/13/2022 The ice has improved most of the ice in St. Albans Bay is 14 to 15 inches thick. The ice going to the flats is 16 to 19 inches thick. There is a lot of snow in some areas and also some areas of slush. The new ice heading out to the flats is 10 1/2 inches thick. We will check ice again on Tuesday.

There is a lot of snow on the ice we have got 20 inches plus of snow in the last two weeks. We will check ice again on Monday after new years. Walleye fishing has been slow.

12/22/2021 Ice in ST ALBANS bay is now 6 to 8 inches. We have not checked the ice where the main lake opened up last week and refroze. There is a crack starting at Pike Point running south across ST. Albans Bay and heading south past Seguchie point. We got 5 inches of snow yesterday

12/12/2021 We checked the ice in St. Albans Bay today and it was 4 1/2 Inches. There were people walking out in the bay and off the points to fish this weekend. The south end bays have thicker ice and some were driving ATV’S and snowmobiles out to fish.
