08/20/24 We can now keep two walleyes between 18 and 20 inches or one in that slot and one over 28 inches. Fishing for walleyes has been slow there is a abundance of bait fish in the lake now. Walleyes that are being caught are on the mud flats. Day time spinners and night crawlers are working the best. Evening slip bobbers and leeches on the edge and top of the flats is the best. Most days Smallmouth bass fishing has been very good. Muskies are being caught on weed edges and on the mud flats. Northern Pike bite has been fair in the bays over the weeds.

08/06/2024 Walleye fishing continues to be slow during the day. The night walleye fishing is slowly improving and the perch have also been biting good on the night trip. Smallmouth bass fishing has been good on the days when we have had some wind. Some northern pike and muskies have been caught in the bays. Walleye fishing will improve when we get to the fall months.

07/01/2024 Walleye fishing has slowed some due to some large Mayfly hatches last week. Walleye fishing is still decent most of the walleyes are now being caught on the mud flats. Most fishermen are using both nightcrawlers and leeches with slip bobbers rigging and trolling with spinners. Smallmouth bass fishing has been okay you can expect better fishing for them in July and August. Smallmouth are being caught in the weeds and on the rock points and reefs. Northern pike fishing has been good in the bays that have weeds. Muskie fishing has been slow some are being seen but only a few have been caught.

5/15/2024 Walleye fishing has been very good since opener. Day bite most people have been using spot tail shiners or rainbow minnows on a jig or a lindy rig set up. The evening bite leech under a slip bobber or trolling with Rapala’s has been the best. Small mouth bass are on the beds and biting. Quit a few northern pike are also being caught in the bays. Evening launches have been catching 90 plus fish a trip.

02/16/2024. A truck and wheelhouse went through the ice this morning at Rocky Reef in thirty feet of water. We have only let ATV’S and Snowmobiles go out on the ice this winter. I do not believe that the ice is safe for trucks or cars to be driving on the ice this winter. We have not allowed any cars or trucks on the ice this winter and we are not going to allow it for the balance of the winter. We checked ice out one mile this morning and consistently found 12 inches but there is 8 to 9 inches of black ice with 3 to 4 inches being white ice which has no strength. People have been going to the Mud flats on ATV’S and snowmobiles. There is no snow on the lake we did not get any snow the other day when it snowed in the Twin Cities.

Shoreline ice is still okay to access the lake. Ice on the lake is 8 to 12 inches. There are some spots where it is 14 inches and also areas on the North end where it has been reported to have some 6 inch ice. Walleye fishing continues to be very good in the evenings
