6/2/2026 Walleye fishing overall has been good. The night bite from 6 to 10 pm has been very good. Launch catches on the 6 to 10 pm trips have exceeded 100 walleyes. Best evening fishing has been on the rock points 18 to 20 feet. Day bite has been slower for the average fisherman but they are still catching walleyes. Anglers that have live scopes and know how to use them are doing very good during the day. The next two weeks a lot of the walleyes will be in transition moving from the shallow water to the mud flats. Tournament fisherman have already been doing good on the mud flats. Smallmouth bass fishing has been very good from four feet to fourteen feet on rock points and rocks along the shoreline. Northern pike fishing had been slow, expect that to improve as the weeds continue to grow.

3/13/2026 Several inches of snow and a lot of wind today with more snow expected on Saturday. Shorelines have a lot of water under the snow and ice is weak along the shore. Anyone trying to fish should use extreme caution. We have closed our access due to concerns for peoples safety.

08/06/2024 Walleye fishing continues to be slow during the day. The night walleye fishing is slowly improving and the perch have also been biting good on the night trip. Smallmouth bass fishing has been good on the days when we have had some wind. Some northern pike and muskies have been caught in the bays. Walleye fishing will improve when we get to the fall months.

07/01/2024 Walleye fishing has slowed some due to some large Mayfly hatches last week. Walleye fishing is still decent most of the walleyes are now being caught on the mud flats. Most fishermen are using both nightcrawlers and leeches with slip bobbers rigging and trolling with spinners. Smallmouth bass fishing has been okay you can expect better fishing for them in July and August. Smallmouth are being caught in the weeds and on the rock points and reefs. Northern pike fishing has been good in the bays that have weeds. Muskie fishing has been slow some are being seen but only a few have been caught.

The evening bite leech under a slip bobber or trolling with Rapala’s has been the best. Small mouth bass are on the beds and biting. Quit a few northern pike are also being caught in the bays. 02/16/2024. A truck and wheelhouse went through the ice this morning at Rocky Reef in thirty feet of water. We have only let ATV’S and Snowmobiles go out on the ice this winter. I do not believe that the ice is safe for trucks or cars to be driving on the ice this winter. We have not allowed any cars or trucks on the ice this winter and we are not going to allow it for the balance of the winter. We checked ice out one mile this morning and consistently found 12 inches but there is 8 to 9 inches of black ice with 3 to 4 inches being white ice which has no strength. People have been going to the Mud flats on ATV’S and snowmobiles. There is no snow on the lake we did not get any snow the other day when it snowed in the Twin Cities.
