07/01/2024 Walleye fishing has slowed some due to some large Mayfly hatches last week. Walleye fishing is still decent most of the walleyes are now being caught on the mud flats. Most fishermen are using both nightcrawlers and leeches with slip bobbers rigging and trolling with spinners. Smallmouth bass fishing has been okay you can expect better fishing for them in July and August. Smallmouth are being caught in the weeds and on the rock points and reefs. Northern pike fishing has been good in the bays that have weeds. Muskie fishing has been slow some are being seen but only a few have been caught.

6/06/2024 Walleye fishing continues to be very good. Some walleyes are still being caught on the Rock points especially in the evening. The mud flats are the best bet during the day and the evening action is also good. Leeches and night crawlers are now the best live baits for the walleyes. Smallmouth bass fishing

5/15/2024 Walleye fishing has been very good since opener. Day bite most people have been using spot tail shiners or rainbow minnows on a jig or a lindy rig set up. The evening bite leech under a slip bobber or trolling with Rapala’s has been the best. Small mouth bass are on the beds and biting. Quit a few northern pike are also being caught in the bays. Evening launches have been catching 90 plus fish a trip.

02/16/2024. A truck and wheelhouse went through the ice this morning at Rocky Reef in thirty feet of water. We have only let ATV’S and Snowmobiles go out on the ice this winter. I do not believe that the ice is safe for trucks or cars to be driving on the ice this winter. We have not allowed any cars or trucks on the ice this winter and we are not going to allow it for the balance of the winter. We checked ice out one mile this morning and consistently found 12 inches but there is 8 to 9 inches of black ice with 3 to 4 inches being white ice which has no strength. People have been going to the Mud flats on ATV’S and snowmobiles. There is no snow on the lake we did not get any snow the other day when it snowed in the Twin Cities.

02/16/2024. A truck and wheelhouse went through the ice this morning at Rocky Reef in thirty feet of water. We have only let ATV’S and Snowmobiles go out on the ice this winter. 02/12/2024 Shoreline ice has refroze with the colder weather ATV’S, snowmobiles and side by sides are going out. Ice thickness is still not consistent it varies from 6 inches to 14 inches. A fish house went through at Macs Twin Bay last week and a ATV went through off of Pike Point. So if you decide to go fishing be careful. A few people are still going out to the Mud Flats. Walleye fishing has slowed down which is typical for this time of the year but some fish are still being caught. Perch are being caught but they are a mixed bag small, medium and large. Sme northern Pike are also being caught in the bays.

Shoreline ice is still okay to access the lake. Ice on the lake is 8 to 12 inches. There are some spots where it is 14 inches and also areas on the North end where it has been reported to have some 6 inch ice. Walleye fishing continues to be very good in the evenings

There is no longer a restriction on truck or wheel house size. There is not enough snow to plow roads so make sure you have a GPS if you plan on going out to the mud flats. We have the following minnows fatheads, suckers and shiners.
